ConnectAbility Annual General meeting 2016

The ConnectAbility Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 16 November 2016 at the ConnectAbility in Hamilton.

During the meeting members accepted reports from the Chair, Committee of Management, ConnectAbility CEO and the Treasurer and received the 2015/2016 Annual Report

The election of Committee members was also undertaken as per the Constitution.

Nominations to the Committee for positions were received from Scott Brooks as Treasurer Bernie Garrett as Deputy Chair. Both were duly elected.

It was with regret that we have had two Committee members retire in 2016. David Bate and Peter Coughlan retired after many years of service to ConnectAbility. We thank them all for their generous donation of time, skills and expertise and their support of the organisation, participants and families. Each of them supported ConnectAbility to remain a strong and viable organisation that puts our participants at the heart of our decision making.

We were also saddened to lose Frank Bates who passed away this year. Frank had been a founding member of the ConnectAbility Committee of Management. His wit and wisdom and genuine ability to make significant changes to the way people with a disability were accepted and included will be a loss to ConnectAbility and the community.

Your new Committee of Management for 2016/2017 now includes:

Nathan Franks, Chair
Bernie Garrett, Deputy Chair
Scott Brooks, Treasurer
Joan Gatt, Committee member
Holly Martin, Committee member
Anna Bailey, Committee member
Kate Grob, Committee member

Our thanks to all who attended the meeting and those that support ConnectAbility throughout the year in a number of ways. We value the support that we receive from individuals, families, Community and corporate supporters. You help us make the difference for our participants.
